I was literally yelling to myself [aloud] not to grab the front brake, reminding myself to keep my arms straight, taking breaks when my legs were giving out, pacing myself, allowing my body to loosen up where possible, looking ahead and overall not doubting my abilities! Trying my absolute best to not let my fear tunnel vision an inevitable fall.
My addiction: [Still] Having to calculate in real-time how much brake, pedal, bodyweight to distribute forward and back, what line you want/need to take, where your front tire needs to be, where you need to be next, etc. Like c’mon, how do you beat that? The only way out is downhill. Be one with the bike, make calculated decisions and then you’ll be fine.
I already can’t wait to go again. I am so grateful for the introduction and for having the “how do you know unless you try?” mindset.
And oh! I am getting more efficient at stitching together videos. Perhaps the production value isn’t “amazing,” but the more you edit the better you’re supposed to get right? Hope you enjoyed my third VLOG.*
